“Tomorrow’s Food”, Colorado State University Spur Food + Agriculture Building, Painted Aluminum, Acrylic, LEDs, 24 x 12 x 7’, Denver, CO, 2022
Sandra Fettingis is a Denver-based public artist creating site-specific murals and sculptural installations rooted in geometric linework, layered form, and an intentional use of negative space. Moving between mural, installation, and architectural intervention, her work is inspired by architecture, plant life, and the patterns of growth and connection found throughout nature—bringing rhythm, openness, movement, and visual breathing room to shared spaces while creating environments that feel grounded and connected to their surroundings.
Statement
Working at the intersection of art, design, architecture, and nature, Sandra’s practice explores rhythm, movement, and spatial balance through geometric form and intentional openness. Inspired by patterns and teachings of growth and connection found throughout the natural world, her work creates moments of atmosphere, visual breathing room, and connection within shared space.
Approach
Sandra collaborates closely with architects, designers, and clients to create site-responsive murals and sculptural installations that feel grounded within their environment. Each project develops through an intuitive dialogue between architecture, light, material, and movement—resulting in compositions that unfold naturally through perspective, scale, and spatial experience.
