“Tomorrow’s Food”, Colorado State University Spur Food + Agriculture Building, Painted Aluminum, Acrylic, LEDs, 24 x 12 x 7’, Denver, CO, 2022

Sandra Fettingis is a Denver-based public artist creating murals, suspended installations, and architectural integrations. Inspired by the line and form of architecture and the teachings of plants, her work is line-based and pattern-driven, built on repetition, a restrained color palette, and open space that lets each piece breathe. The compositions feel familiar, plant-like but never specific, offering a quiet sense of comfort and belonging within the spaces they inhabit.

Approach

Sandra begins by looking closely at a space before she designs — taking in the architecture, materials, color, and the people who will move through it to shape form, palette, and composition. The result feels integrated within its environment, not separate from it.

Experience

Sandra brings murals and suspended installations into public spaces nationally and internationally, working alongside architects, designers, private businesses, and public agencies. Her work spans hospital stairwells to university balconies, from large-scale murals to lit suspended installations. With over 100 completed public projects, she manages each from concept through installation, in collaboration with consultants and teams as needed.
